Cops: Before DeKalb killing, suspect said ‘You know what time it is’

Before the deadly shooting, a man approached 36-year-old Adrian Anderson from around a corner and made his intentions known.
“You know what time it is,” the suspect said while pointing a black semi-automatic handgun at Waterford Manor apartments on Covington Highway, according to DeKalb County police documents. “Give it here.”
Anderson was standing with friends around a car in the parking lot at about 3 a.m. on July 7.
He tried to fight off the suspect, identified by police as Samuel M. Alexander, 26, warrants released Monday said.
Anderson, a Covington resident, fell to the parking lot with multiple gunshot wounds, soon to die.
Alexander, who lives at the apartments, took $2,000 in cash from the victim, the warrants said.
Alexander, who is charged with murder and armed robbery, was arrested last week and remains in jail without bond.
